2. Preparations

To avoid transport damage, the

base plate, guide tube, falling

weights, die and collar are packed

separately.

Assembly

• Insert the die into the bore in

the base plate.

• Place the guide tube - with the

slotted side facing to the front

and the zero end of the scale

facing down- into the clamping

device.

• Place the test plate on the die

and fix it by using the

clamping device.

• Assemble the falling weight.

• Insert the falling weight in the

guide tube from above.

• Adjust the guide tube so that

the top of the guide

piece/handle is at "0" (see Fig.

2). Fix the guide tube in this

position.

• Place the collar onto the guide

tube from above and fix at the

required height.

• Align the instrument horizon-

tally by using the levelling

feet and the bubble level.
