Measuring Haze

Haze surfaces show diffusely

scattered light in the range of 1– 3°

adjacent to the main reflection

(fig. 18).

Haze can only be seen on the

gloss surfaces. Therefore, the 20°

geometry is used. The 20°

reflectometer detects an aperture

angle of 1.8°. For measuring haze

two additional detectors having an

aperture of 1.8° each and

measuring the intensity of the

scattered light are disposed

adjacent to the reflectometer

aperture.
